Do I need a travel visa and yellow fever vaccination?

International guests are advised to enquire at their nearest travel office, for visa and appropriate medical precautions.

 

Are boats and safari vehicles available for hire?

What is the climate like?

Zambia has 3 distinct seasons and summer temperatures range from 25° to 35° C and in winter from 6° to 24° C.

 

What do I need to bring?

All your food, drinks, bottled water and snacks. Cameras, torches, batteries, binoculars, camera chargers, ample camera film or digital memory storage and fishing equipment. Cameras and phones can be charged by the electricity inverter available at the lodge. Personal care items such as toiletries, sun screen lotion, insect repellent, first aid and malaria medication.

 

How do I get there?

International guests can fly to Lusaka's Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. From Lusaka they can either fly directly to Lower Zambezi's Royal Airstrip, or undertake the scenic journey by road via Chirundu.

 

Do I have to bring bedding and extra blankets?

MRL provides all bedding and blankets.

 

Do I have to bring any utensils?

MRL provides all utensils and dining crockery. The kitchens are equipped with gas stoves, running water, gas freezers and solar lighting.
